My first mug and vase that came out of the kiln a few weeks ago! They were both hand-built, but lately I’ve been throwing things on the wheel.
I keep starting-and-stopping with ceramics, so I seem to make only mugs and cereal bowls and small vases. I have SHELVES of them and live alone. Ha! It’s fun though; a nice mid-week creative break. Here’s a peak inside the pottery studio. I also took pictures of a few pieces that came out of the kiln or were in-progress.
My teacher wedging some clay before a wheel demo. Check out the outfit: 30-plus years of doing pottery, this is what the pros wear. OVERALLS. I now want a pair. I asked if the shoes were originally white, and she said, “yes!”
I’ve been wearing old cords and flip flops.
And here’s a few of my favorite bowls at Sunday’s Empty Bowls event.
The one that I took home. LOVE IT.
